Kitchen chimney buying guide: size, suction and auto clean
Indian cooking produces a lot of smoke and oil. A well-chosen chimney keeps walls, cabinets and the air in your kitchen cleaner.
Size
Pick a chimney at least as wide as your hob: 60 cm for 2–3 burner hobs and 90 cm for 4–5 burner hobs.
Suction
Suction is measured in m³/hr. For everyday Indian cooking, around 1,000–1,500 m³/hr works well for most kitchens.
Auto clean and filterless designs
Auto-clean chimneys collect oil in a removable cup, and filterless designs reduce the need to wash filters.
Controls
Touch and gesture controls are easy to wipe clean and let you change speed without touching the panel with oily hands.
